As a coach and online business owner, I know how hard it is to come up with things to talk about on social media, especially if you're just starting out. There was a time when a simple newsletter would take me four hours to write.
Facebook posts were impossible to figure out and I'd have to save them on my computer and come back to them later because I'd be stressing out so much and couldn't handle the pressure.
Here's the thing: it doesn't have to be so hard. And chances are, like most things in your life, you're making this harder than it needs to be.
I know you want it to be 'perfect' (ha!!) I know you want it to get lots of likes and have really good engagement, as well as land with your ideal client. You want this amazing post to hit home with your ideal client and maybe even get hired.
So you sit and sit and put it off one more day, to edit it and make it right, then another day, and pretty soon you've been doing your business for 8 months and you don't even have a list yet.
Because you're not putting yourself out there.
You're getting caught up in the little shit and not getting visible. Your perfectionism, fear of being seen, fear of saying too much/not enough/anything, is slowing you and your business down.
And the shitty part about this is that it's not going to go away until you actually start writing, posting, getting more visible. It's a muscle you have to use every day, so eventually, it's a non-issue.
I came up with a list for you, to help you start sharing more of who you are and to help you get more visible online.
Here are 10 days of content for you:
Review a book. What are you reading? Share your takeaway, what you're learning and how it's changing your life. Make this a blog post series and share on social media, in your newsletter, etc.
Share your coach training experience. If you're currently in Coach Training, what are you learning? What skills did you pick up this week? Educate your readers about what you're learning and how you can help them!
Share your journal entries. If you're feeling called to share what's coming up for you in your daily journaling, share in a post or in a group. Talk about what's on your mind!
Behind-the-scenes. Show us what your life is like! A day in the life is a fun way to show people your personality and what you do in your spare time or on a typical workday.
Quick, helpful tip. Share something that will make your ideal clients day a little easier.
Testimonial. These are so good! It's social proof of how you help your clients and the results they're experiencing. Use it to promote a program and show people what you've been up to!
Share a bit of your story. This doesn't have to be a deep, dark secret. Why did you move to a new city? Why did you choose to be a vegetarian? What's something you wish you knew how to do? Small shares also bring people closer to you. You don't have to spill your guts if that's not your style. If it's easier to share in a Facebook group, rather than on your homepage, come join The Traveling Wild Woman Community, where women from all over the world are sharing their stories!
Fun Facts. I love doing 10 fun facts about me! I find out so much about people, like who else plays the flute and who else was a camp counselor when they were in their teens!
Make a meme. Go on Canva or WordSwag (my two faves) and make a meme. Share a quote you said or one that inspired you. Use your branding colors and talk about why this quote is important to you.
Share someone else's stuff. We love it when people share our posts, so give some love! If you find something helpful or inspiring, share it! And tag them in it so you let them know you're inspired by them!
And there you go! Ten days of easy content ideas. You can spread these out over the next two weeks, or, if you're feeling brave, commit to using these daily for the next 10 days!
